The University of Connecticut/Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Department of Family Medicine seeks a board certified family physician educator to serve as the Medical Director of our Family Medicine Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Have you heard of the Primary Care Office of the Future (https://www.cipci.org/future)? The author of that exhibit – which was the largest at the AAFP Scientific Assembly last Fall – Thomas Agresta, is from our Department, and practices in our FMC. That exhibit is an example of the direction that our practice transformation efforts are headed. We seek someone preferably mid-career to help bring that vision into reality. The Department has a long outstanding history of excellence in medical education, and has produced no less than 3 Presidents of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). We are also actively engaged in the practice community here in CT, where we’ve produced no less than 3 Presidents of the Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians.
Asylum Hill Family Medicine Center serves as the Department’s only residency and faculty ambulatory care practice. We are a busy modern office practice located in the west end of Hartford directly across the street from Saint Francis Hospital which is one of the highest rated hospitals in the state and region, and a member of Trinity Health-New England. Our 21-resident program with a multi-disciplinary staff and faculty (including Behavioral Health, Medical Informatics, PharmD’s, Nutritionist and Research) offers a strong supportive environment to support excellence in patient care, medical education and community service. We are seeking a mid-career (associate professor or higher) family physician with innovative practice transformation experience to enhance the Joy in Practice at our Center. Candidates with business (financial/budgetary experience) and practice management/Patient Centered Medical Home experience and skills are essential. Full scope of practice (ambulatory office, hospitalized patients and intrapartum obstetric care) is desirable. Experience with EPIC is a plus. This fulltime position will also serve as core faculty for the residency program where responsibilities will include teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, sports medicine fellows and other faculty.
Position Requirements: M.D. or D.O. The scope of clinical practice will include outpatient and inpatient care. Must possess/acquire and maintain a license to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut. Additional advanced degrees (eg. M.P.H., M.S., or Ph.D.) advantageous, but not required.
The position will become available on July 1, 2017. SALARY: Competitive; commensurate with experience and congruent with AAMC Faculty Salary table guidelines.
Excellent Faculty/Teaching Position in a Family Medicine Residency Program (close to Hartford, Connecticut)
We are seeking a full-time Faculty physician to join Prospect Eastern Connecticut Health Network, Inc. Family Medicine Residency Program of Manchester Memorial Hospital. Excellent clinical care within a collaborative team is provided at 2 locations in Manchester, Connecticut. The physician should have a passion to teach residents and a strong interest in developing a curriculum. This position involves precepting residents and medical students on a daily basis along with some patient consults.
Academic appointments are available through the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM). The program is AOA accredited and is currently in the process ACGME Accreditation.
