Eastern Connecticut Family Medicine Residency Program

The Eastern Connecticut Family Medicine Residency Program (FMRP), sponsored by Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH), a member hospital of the Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), was created in response to the critical shortage of family physicians in the eastern part of Connecticut. As the only family medicine residency program east of the river, FMRP provides a community-focused clinical site for residents to learn the art and science of family medicine.

The Family Health Care Center is the primary teaching site where residents will provide primary care to their own patient panel, under the guidance and supervision of board-certified family physicians and specialists. Residents will provide and learn at MMH, an award-winning community hospital, where residents will also run a Family Medicine Residency Service.

Residents will learn cutting-edge medicine while maintaining and building upon the core principles learned as medical students, in preparation for the dynamic nature of our changing health care system.

The mission of the Eastern Connecticut Family Medicine Residency Program (ECFMRP) is to train outstanding, capable, conscientious full spectrum family physicians through innovative and evidence based educational curriculum in a patient centered medical home. The residents we train will be leaders in their community providing care to underserved patients throughout New England.
